Albufeira, Portugal, to Seville in Spain ( a journey that takes just 2.5 hours now, via the IP1 & E22), We stopped off at Spain’s first town,
AYAMONTE just I kilo from the bridge that spans the
River Guadiana, thus linking these two beautiful countries. So taken with this town were we, that, we made immediate plans to return.
During our subsequent visit we had the time to absorb the beauty of this town and its surrounding area, including the newly developing “
Isla Canela”, an island that sits just 5 kil south of the E22 via
Ayamonte.
It did not take us long to agree, “This is where we wanted to live” !

The region being easily accessable via, either
Faro airport 45minutes or Seville airport 1hr, or the third option of Jerez 1.45hrs.
